It’s not about the amount of content to rank on Google. It’s more about the authority of the domain over the topics it covered.
Even if you have 100s or 1000s of blog posts and if your domain has less authority over the topic you have covered on your blog posts, the chances of ranking your blog on Google will be very less.
It is always recommended to write long-form content with high-quality content. Then you should improve the authority of that topic.
So how can you do it?
It can be achieved through backlinks, social media sharing, etc… Your website presence on other websites who share same content influence the DA (Domain Authority).
Social presence can also signal Google about the relevance of your content on the topic you have covered.
Even if you have less number of blog posts, but have high authority over a topic, keyword researching on the topics you have authority can further help gain more authority over a wider topic.
It can also help you to boost search traffic or otherwise called organic traffic.
When I say about the backlinks, it is important to aim for high DA websites. Guest blogging is a good step for quality backlinks.
So always remember to create high-quality long-form content which focuses on a common broad topic while you write your next blog post.
