WhatsApp finally launched the disappearing messages feature officially on the new update. It will be available to all its user during the month of November 2020.
The Disappearing Messages functionality will be available on all platforms supported by WhatsApp, including iOS, Android and Linux based KaiOS.
There is a time limit of seven days for the latest feature before the message is automatically removed.
For an individual as well as group conversations, the functionality is available. In group chats, however, the group administrators would be able to turn on this disappearing messages feature in group chats to fade.
WhatsApp team explained that before the setting is activated, the function would not impact messages sent or received.
The Facebook-owned company said the goal is "to make conversations on WhatsApp feel as close to in-person as possible, which means they shouldn't have to stick around forever".
A significant point to remember here is that there is no way to customise the time period after which the messages will be removed until the Disappearing Messages function is on.
